"Larmes de Grappe," or "Tears of the Whole Cluster," is one such wine. The 2005 "Larmes de Grappe," much like the 2001, was produced from an outstanding vintage early spring, a long cool growing season, and perfect temperature at harvest allowing us to select the ideal moment to pick. And like the 01, the 2005 Larmes comes from an outstanding Santa Rita Hills vineyard this time from Sanford & Benedict. We made a special selection of fruit that had fully mature stems a sight rarely seen in California and fermented the wines with 100% whole clusters.
