2004 Clendenen Family Vineyards Syrah/Viognier
Description: This is a wine from the Clendenen Family’s new, organically certified ranch near Los Alamos, La Cuna de California. It is low alcohol (12.8%), co-fermented, very aromatic, and classically modeled. The aromas are quite floral, with green, white, and black pepper. In the mouth, the honeysuckle and peach viognier notes intertwine with soft purple fruit, hard spice, and earth. As hot climate Shiraz and stupid, sweet, short syrah recede in popularity, this wine is a beacon towards balance, elegance, and varietal integrity.
