For those that appreciate what time does in the bottle. This complex wine shows notes of cherries, root beer, and mocha and cherries along with nuances of black licorice, clove, tea and spice.
Bright berry fruit and depth with the tight structure, spice and mineral notes singular to this vineyard location. It is a promising beauty needing more time to show off all it has to offer. Extremely limited.
The Westall Vineyard is another new vineyard that we having been using for a few years. In 2013 we made a paltry 50 cases that will be sold only to the tasting room and wine club members. It is lovely. This is a mid-weight Pinot with a fresh berry/cranberrry quality and subtle earthy tones.
A Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir meaning it is a wine of great aromatics and character. The key word is balance. A balance of oak and fruit, tannin and acid, elegance and intensity.
Those who enjoy a well aged Pinot will be thrilled with this wine. The fruit is from Jim’s Rancho La Cuna vineyard in Los Alamos, an area known for deep reds. This wine is supple on the mid-palate with firm acidity. It is a very limited release.
From one of our best vineyard sources, this fleshy yet structured wine has a dark fruit character, such as plums and cherries along with the signature spice this location provides.
Every once in a while nature provides the substance for a truly remarkable wine. "Larmes de Grappe," or "Tears of the Whole Cluster," is one such wine. Amazing”, Unbelievable, Mind-boggling and even “the best ever” were a few of the descriptions of the 2005 Pinot Noir harvest in Santa Barbara County. It produced this once-in-a-blue moon, extremely rich, deep berry and dark chocolate Pinot.
Situated in one of the Central Coast's most coveted appellations, the Sierra Madre Vineyard lies near the western edge of the Santa Maria Valley, in northern Santa Barbara County.
It was on the site of the Los Alamos vineyards that Au Bon Climat began making wines 25 years ago. Situated between the Santa Ynez and Santa Maria Valleys, this location is perfect for cool climate varietals.
This is a deep, generous wine that keeps on giving. It shows complex cherry/berry fruit, earthy spice, bitter chocolate, and vanillin from aging in high quality French barrels. More than charming.
