2005 Nebbiolo Bricco Buon Natale
The vineyard (another Bien Nacido lease) was planted to 2 exciting clones (Lampeia & Micchet) back in 1994. The wine has been vinified using proven techniques that Clendenen has isolated during his decades of nebbiolo winemaking in California. Nebbiolo is high in acid so extensive barrel aging not only softens the tannins but also allows the acid to assimilate into the wine. The changes in the wine during this time in barrel are extraordinary. A 5 year barrel aging program produced a wine of soft tannins and moderate alcohol that make it many possible food matches.
