Au Bon Climat
Distinctive wines of vision and harmony. An homage to Burgundy, Au Bon Climat features many renditions of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Blanc, with balance and character critical elements in every wine. These wines age beautifully because of their balance and restraint. For older vintages or large format bottles, see menu.
A single vineyard Chardonnay at this price is rare. Toasted spices, nuts, coconut, white flowers, and stone fruits all emerge from the glass, and it's medium-bodied, with a layered, nicely textured mouthfeel, bright acidity, and a clean finish. Scored 92/BEST BUY points Wine & Spirits Magazine; 90 points Jeb Dunnuck.
This single vineyard Pinot delivers depth. The 2017 is a rich, meaty red with a dense fruit character showing earthy, berry aromas joined by mouth-filling flavors of plum and bitter chocolate on the palate. Aged 18 months in french oak barrels, one third new. Scored 91 points & "Best Buy" from Wine & Spirits Mag.
This beautifully balanced Pinot is rich yet elegant on the palate offering lots of ripe cherry and strawberry fruit as well as notes of spice, loamy earth, and underbrush. Another terrific value for those who like more graceful, seamless wines. Scored 92 points Jeb Dunnuck.
A refreshing, dry, blended white with citrus lemon/lime notes, flinty minerality, and crisp finish. It is richer than most light whites, yet so easy drinking! Great for casual sippin' and a crowd pleaser with shellfish, roast chicken, turkey or duck.

Great value! This barrel fermented, full bodied Chardonnay has mouth filling citrus fruit and a palate cleansing, bright finish. It will become richer and more complex with age.
Great value! Miles above other Pinots in the same price category, this wine is a particularly wonderful vintage. It is deeply colored with aromas and flavors of strawberries and raspberries joined by anise and clove in mouth filling intensity.
This truly regal wine is made for those that appreciate creamy, richly textured Chardonnays. Lots of buttered citrus, orchard fruits and slight pineapple notes as well as spice, toasty oak, and salty mineral-like nuances all emerge from the glass. It is focused and precise on the palate, has good mid-palate depth, and outstanding length. Aged in specially handcrafted Francois Freres barrels, and gave it extended barrel age to create this remarkable wine. Scored 93 points Jeb Dunnuck; 92 points Wine & Spirits Magazine.
Wine & Spirits Magazine - Year's Best Pinot Noirs: Score 93 points/BEST BUY, "Drawn from Bien Nacido and Clendenen Family vineyards, this wine's smoky black-cherry fruit gets richer with air, lingering on a scent of mulled berries. The flavors remain smoky and dark, with a concentrated but elegant savor, quiet and refined structured for a long cellar life."
An unusual but regal blend of 55% Pinot Gris, 40% Pinot Blanc and 5% Aligoté meant to recreate Burgundy's fabled Charlemagne vineyard in Medieval times. Bright and finely cut, Hildegard shows another side to Jim Clendenen's magic touch. Lemon peel, white flowers, white pepper and crushed rocks give the 2018 a striking aromatic top register to match its mid-weight personality. In a word: sublime.
