ICI La Bas Wines
Ici/La-Bas translates as “here and there”, as in the grapes are grown "there" in the Anderson Valley of Mendocino County or Oregon, and the wine is made "here" at our production facility in Santa Maria. Each year a Chardonnay and Pinot Noir is produced from the Elke Vineyard in Anderson Valley, and occasionally a Pinot Noir from Oregon.
The Anderson Valley of Northern California has a cool, coastal climate perfect for growing Pinot Noir. Time in the bottle has harmoniously integrated with all the elements. Lovely.
A wine of charm and balance. Delicate fruit notes of apple, licorice and melon effortlessly intertwine with a gentle toasty character. The 24 months aging in new Francois Frere oak barrels makes an obvious, but not overpowering statement.
