2017 Tocai Friulano
The Tocai Fruilano, an Italian white varietal, was planted in 1994 on the Bien Nacido Vineyard property, very close to our production facility. In lesser grape growing areas this variety will set a large crop with little flavor, but in the cool Santa Maria Valley, the crop is small and intense and more importantly, the flavors and aromatics true to the variety. Tocai Fruilano is a floral wine with aromas of, green almond, honey and honey suckle and flavors of apple and pear. Traditional winemaking techniques give our Tocai added texture. Drink this wine as a starter for any meal or with lighter fare such as quiche or crab salad.

Score: 92 "The 2017 Tocai Friulano Borgo Buon Natale has a nose of green herbs, beeswax, dust and salted almonds with a core of white peaches. The palate is medium-bodied, rounded and silky with very concentrated flavor layers, juicy and fresh and finishing with just a kiss of anchoring texture. 290 cases were made."
