2018 Grenache Gris
The Clendenen Family label is Jim's project of passion, going beyond the burgundian theme of the Au Bon Climat label. This is our first Grenache Gris, an obscure variety grown in the south of France. It is an easy drinking wine that has massive appeal, with structure and flavors not unlike an expensive White Hermitage. Only 60 cases were made. We are offering our wine club members first access. It won't be around long, get is while it lasts!

Score: 90 points "The only white I was able to taste from this label, the 2018 Grenache Gris Rancho La Cuna is a good value from Santa Barbara County based on 100% Grenache Gris that was barrel fermented and aged all in neutral oak. This steely, fresh, mineral-laced white offers lots of spice, pear, and citrus-driven aromas and flavors as well as a medium-bodied, salty, fresh, and crisp style on the palate. It's nicely balanced and is a perfect tapas or starter white. It's also going to evolve for 7-8 years, if you're so inclined."
